Resignation Tools

General Information

Ever thought about resigning? We all have at some point. At this site we understand that part of the process of getting a new job may involve you leaving an existing one. Or perhaps you have been given an opportunity to accept a new job offer and are unsure whether or not to do so?  In the following pages we’ve covered some issues you may wish to consider before you leave.

Resigning from a job requires as much careful planning and etiquette as does applying for one! It’s not as simple as giving a few weeks notice!

How To Know When Its Time To Go!

If you’re poking around in the resignation pages of the site, things are probably not bright and shiny in your world.  There are many reasons to be cautions and play it safe.  At other times, you just need to pull the plug and get out of there.

Contract Obligations

Ready to quit your job?  Before you start drafting your resignation letter, think about the obligations that come with it. If you have one, you will need to review your employment contract, agreement or award.  There may be specific requirements noted in there about resigning your position and how this impacts your entitlements.

Resigning With Class

If you have to resign, make sure that you do it with class. It creates a win-win position for you and your employer. You will be respected and remembered for staying dignified, professional and positive.

There are a few key pointers here for different situations.  Make sure you are confident about what you are doing.  Be prepared.  Stay focused and positive and your experience will be a good one.

An exit interview is a meeting between a company representative and the employee who is leaving. They offer the company the chance to do a reality check against their employment policies and offer you the opportunity to address any issues you may have.
